Adding Milk To Tea Can Prevent Stained Teeth

It is well known that tea leaves contain tannin which stains the teeth, and a great way to prevent this is by adding a few drops of milk in your tea. The effect is better than a whitening toothpaste.

Adding milk in your tea can help you whiten your teeth, according to a research published in the magazine “International Journal of Dental Hygiene”, and scientists claim that milk is more effective than whitening toothpastes.

This is due to the protein casein, which can be found in milk. He binds to the tannins in tea that cause dark spots on the teeth and prevents their occurrence.

Dr. Ava Chow, an assistant professor in the University of Alberta’s School of Dentistry , notes that adding milk in tea is a culture-specific phenomenon and that this findings won’t convince some people to start putting milk in their tea.
