Lainey Wilson Kicks Off Red Kettle Campaign With Electric Thanksgiving Cowboys Halftime Show

One year after Dolly Parton captivated audiences with her viral Red Kettle Kickoff halftime performance, Lainey Wilson was honored with the prestigious role.

The Red Kettle Kickoff signals the start of the Salvation Army’s annual Red Kettle Campaign each holiday season. Since 1997, this meaningful event has been featured during halftime of the Dallas Cowboys’ Thanksgiving Day football game, bringing together music and philanthropy to support those in need.

Reigning ACM Entertainer of the Year, Lainey Wilson, took the field during halftime of Thursday’s game (November 28) between the Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants held at AT&T Stadium.

Unlike Dolly Parton, who made headlines last year by wearing a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader outfit during her halftime performance, Lainey Wilson opted for a more elegant look. She donned a classy white and silver bedazzled ensemble, complete with her signature bell bottoms and a white cowboy hat.

Before taking the stage, it was announced that Wilson would perform hits from her latest album, Whirlwind. She also teased the audience with the promise of a special surprise guest.

Wilson opened her set with her award-winning hit, “Heart Like A Truck.” The Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders then joined her on stage, dancing alongside her as she performed “Hang Tight Honey” and “4x4xU.” The performance reached its peak when a surprise guest made an unexpected appearance, adding an extra layer of excitement to the evening.

The surprise guest was none other than JELLY ROLL! The crowd erupted when Jelly Roll joined Lainey on stage to sing their collab “Save Me.”

Lainey then went solo once again to conclude her set with “Wildflowers and Wild Horses.”
