A stroke usually occurs when the blood supply to part of your brain is interrupted or severely reduced, depriving brain tissue of oxygen and nutrients. Within minutes, brain cells begin to die. A stroke is a medical emergency. Stroke is actually a brain attack, just like a heart attack in your brain, where blood flow is interrupted to your head.
And the most terrifying thing is that there are 3 ways in which you can cause your own stroke! A recent study at the University of Minnesota found that if you let 3 emotions get out of control, it sends your risk of stroke out of the normal limits.
The study conducted by group of researchers at the University of Minnesota looked at more than 6,500 people and this is what they’ve found:
- If you feel depressed, you increase your stroke risk by 86%
- If you are stressed out all the time, your stroke risk is increased by 59%
- Experiencing hostility doubles your stroke risk. A 100% increase of stroke risk
This study also confirms that if you are getting extremely angry all the time, it will increase your chance of a heart attack by 500%. Susan Everson-Rose, one of the researchers, says that people pay too much attention on the traditional risk factors, like cholesterol levels, blood pressure, smoking and others. Susan says that these risk factors are very important, but this study also shows that psychological characteristics are very important as well. Just try to find a way to reduce your hostility, depression and stress and you will lower your chances of a stroke, she says.
The conventional medicine and medical experts have a tough time with this, because the prescribed medications and antibiotics often don’t work and that’s all what they really have to offer! Susan says that the only thing they don’t access is coping strategies. If someone is experiencing symptoms or feeling a lot of stress or hostility in their lives, we can’t tell how they manage to deal with those, so it’s very possible that coping strategies could ameliorate some of these associations or effects, she says.
So the main question you need to ask yourselves is: What you can do to change your thought patters, avoid anger and depression, and stop the increased risk of stroke? Well, Dr. Michael Cutler can help you with that. Dr. Michael says that trick is to recognize that anger and anxiety are all about fear. He also says that your fear consists of merely false expectations appearing real. So, he suggests that we all should take a deep breath and we should focus on the possibilities that everything will work out just fine. Dr. Michael Cutler says that the focus on good things in life can bring you peaceful feelings.
Try to replace your fearful thoughts with some good and happy thoughts. These good thoughts can bring you good feelings into your body, and the good feelings can help you heal inside your body. Our body produces neurochemicals which are healing our body from the inside and produces endorphins that reduce physical pain. If you laugh all the time, you will notice that your fear and depression will disappear.
