Full List of Illegal Cancer-Causing Shampoos! Is Your Shampoo on The List?!

We used to think that the worst thing our shampoo could do to you is to burn our eyes. But, recent studies have shown that is nothing compared to the ingredients found in shampoos and soaps in almost 100 different brands. The Center for Environmental Health based in Oakland, California, performed a study on shampoos and soaps and found that 98 included a possible carcinogen known as cocamide diethanolamine (cocamide DEA).

The chemical, cocamide diethanolamine (cocamide DEA), a chemically-modified form of coconut oil used as a thickener or foaming agent in many products, was listed by California as a known carcinogen last year.

CEH filed a California lawsuit against four companies that sell products containing cocamide DEA, and the nonprofit has sent legal notices to more than 100 other companies that produce and/or sell cocamide DEA-tainted products (foam stabilizer, shampoos and soaps) that their products violate state law. Proposition 65, in the Laws of state California, requires manufacturers to warn consumers over the risks of certain substances, like cocamide DEA. Cocamide DEA is on that list because it is a suspected carcinogen and it was banned in the state last year after a study found it caused cancer in laboratory animals.
Products tested with high levels of cocamide DEA include shampoos made by Colgate, Palmolive, Colomer, Paul Mitchell, Prell and many others. In addition, products marketed for children, such as a shampoo/conditioner from Babies R Us and a product falsely labeled as organic were found with the chemical, in violation of California law. Other store brand products that contain the carcinogen came from Trader Joe’s, Walmart, and Kohl’s.

Manufacturers can put any toxic chemical they want into shampoos because the FDA allows them to put all sorts of chemicals in their products, including chemicals that are known carcinogens and that contribute to liver failure and nervous system disorders.
Homemade Natural Shampoo:

• 1/2 cup coconut milk
• 2/3 cup Castile soap
• 10-15 drops essential oil of your choice
• 2 teaspoons almond oil or olive oil

Directions:

Mix together all the ingredients in the bottle and shake thoroughly. Just give it a shake before you use.
